General Description


The Tobusch fishhook cactus can grow up to 60 cm tall and around 40 cm wide. Its long red and yellow spines contrast impressively with its green body. It grows vibrant yellow flowers during the summer, adding even more color to the surrounding landscapes.

Habitat


This cactus flourishes in the rocky and sandy soils of northern Mexico's deserts. It feels more at home in high-altitude areas up to 1,500 meters above sea level, where the sun's rays hit more directly.

This cactus grows slowly, yet it boasts an impressive longevity, with certain plants living past the hundred-year mark. Its thick flesh, adept at water storage, enables it to withstand extended droughts.
